BCKimonos is proud to officially add Sarah Draht to the competition team! Sarah is a stand out competitor and the reigning 2014 Pan BJJ champion at Purple Belt. As great of a competitor as Sarah is she is an even better person and coach. Sarah has trained and inspired hundreds of Women in the Okanagan and has developed a monstrous Women Only Kickboxing program at Pacific Top Team Kelowna/Penticton. I have known Sarah for years and I am very proud to have her as part of this team.
Here is a brief Bio from Sarah:
In 2005 I began training in Vernon BC with Dave Belanger. He personally trained me in Muay Thai Kickboxing, No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, conditioning, and nutrition. From there I added training at the Vernon Boxing Club under Brian Jones, taking my skills in boxing to the next level.
Competition began for me in 2006. I compete in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, MMA, and Sanshou. Then in 2009-2014 I earned the title of Pan-American Champion three times, and have won silver and bronze at the World Jiu-Jitsu Championships.
I love competing and training because of the raw honesty that comes with it. There are no short-cuts, no ways to 'fake' what you can or cannot do, or what you know. It all comes down to hard work, day in and day out. This is why the rewards from training and competing are something to be very proud of, and for me so worth it.
I am now a full time instructor at Pacific Top Team, and also do the marketing, events, and promotions for the club.
The skills, experience and passion of competing and training over the years is what I seek to instill in each and every student through my instructing at Pacific Top Team. My greatest enjoyment as an instructor is to watch the journey each student makes from the first time they step on the mats to the transformation of enjoying the healthier lifestyle
